BendPak Certifies Ranger Wheel-Service Line

ETL mark covers current Ranger models

BendPak says all current Ranger tire changers and wheel balancers have earned ETL certification to applicable UL and CSA safety standards in the United States and Canada. The company said Intertek Testing Services independently reviewed the equipment for electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical safety requirements.

The certification follows an 18-month redesign project across the Ranger wheel-service lineup. BendPak said the work included changes to electrical architecture, structural components, mechanical systems, and pneumatic systems.

Shop hazards drove the redesign

The safety review focused on risks technicians see in daily tire and wheel service: pinch points, moving parts, electrical and fire hazards, pressure systems, and other operator-protection issues. Where designs fell short of the certification criteria, BendPak said components were redesigned or replaced before the equipment went through final testing.

The certified lineup includes the DST30PX, LS45DS, RB30T, and DST2420X wheel balancers, along with Ranger tire changers including the R745, R980XR, R76ATR, R980DP, R80EX, and R26FLT. BendPak said certified units carry the ETL mark on the product label.

Why fleet shops should care

For fleets that run in-house maintenance bays, school-district shops, municipal garages, or mixed service-vehicle operations, shop equipment is part of the safety program. Certification does not replace training, lockout practices, inspections, or preventive maintenance, but it gives procurement and risk teams a cleaner documentation trail when replacing tire and wheel equipment.

The practical takeaway is less about one supplier and more about spec discipline. As fleets keep vehicles longer and push more tire work through internal shops, equipment standards, technician exposure, and audit-ready safety documentation deserve the same attention as vehicle specs.
