Commercial Fleet Sales Rise 7.1% Through July
Bobit data show 504,044 same-automaker commercial fleet sales through July, up 7.1% from 2025, with July volume up 9.6% year over year.
Commercial Fleets Led The Growth
Commercial fleet sales rose 7.1% on a same-automaker basis through July 2026, according to Automotive Fleet's reporting on Bobit Business Media sales data. The same-automaker comparison counted 504,044 commercial fleet sales, up from 470,433 during the same period in 2025.
Reported commercial fleet sales totaled 508,155 through July, up 8% year over year. Automotive Fleet noted that figure includes 4,111 sales from two automakers without matching 2025 volume, which is why the same-automaker comparison is the cleaner 7.1% measure.
July Reaccelerated After A Softer Quarter
July itself was stronger than the second-quarter pace. Comparable commercial fleet sales reached 75,795 vehicles in July, up 9.6% from 69,165 in July 2025. Automotive Fleet reported that commercial sales had risen 9.1% in the first quarter and 4.7% in the second quarter before the July increase.
Across commercial, government and rental fleet channels, same-automaker sales totaled 1,380,314 through July, up just 0.5%. Commercial fleets added 33,611 vehicles, more than offsetting a 32,025-unit decline in rental fleet sales; government fleets added 5,959 vehicles.
What It Means For Acquisition Planning
The numbers point to steady commercial demand rather than a quiet buying year. For corporate, service and vocational fleets, that can matter when setting replacement timing, ordering windows and OEM allocation expectations for pickups, vans, SUVs and trucks through Class 7. The July pickup also suggests commercial buyers are still moving ahead with vehicle plans even while rental demand remains softer.
