Mercedes Electric GLC Brings 350-Mile SUV Into Fleet Mix
The Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 4MATIC Electric adds a midsize SUV with up to 350 miles of estimated EPA range, 330-kW DC fast charging, and a 94-kWh battery.
Electric GLC enters the midsize SUV lane
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the GLC 400 4MATIC Electric, adding a battery-electric midsize SUV to a nameplate that already sits in many executive, sales, and premium service-vehicle discussions.
The launch model is rated at 483 hp and up to an estimated 350 miles of EPA range. Mercedes built it on an electric-first architecture with a 94-kWh usable battery and an 800-volt electrical system.
Charging and service details matter
The GLC supports DC fast charging at up to 330 kW, with a standard DC converter for 400-volt fast chargers. The navigation system can add charging stops to routes and precondition the battery before fast charging. At selected Mercedes-Benz charging hubs, the vehicle can reserve a charger 15 minutes before arrival when route guidance is active.
Mercedes also highlighted serviceability in the battery design, including replaceable electronics that can be accessed without removing the full battery. That is a small detail, but it is the kind of ownership issue fleet teams watch as EVs move past pilots and into normal replacement cycles.
More room, more software
The electric GLC rides on a 117-inch wheelbase, 3.3 inches longer than the combustion model. Cargo capacity is listed at 20.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats, 61.4 cubic feet with seats folded, plus a 4.5-cubic-foot front trunk.
The SUV also introduces Mercedes-Benz's MB.OS platform, which manages infotainment, driver assistance, comfort features, charging, and over-the-air software updates. For fleets, the bigger takeaway is not the dashboard screen. It is that premium fleet vehicles are increasingly being evaluated on software support, charging workflow, service access, and route reliability alongside badge and residual value.
