Paccar is recalling close to 6,000 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks for a potential electrical problem that could affect engine power, ABS functions, exterior lighting, windshield wipers, and defogging.
Heavy Duty Trucking reported that the recall affects 2027 model year trucks built this summer. Kenworth T680, T880, and W900 trucks and Peterbilt Model 579, 589, and 567 trucks built between June 9 and July 13 are included. Kenworth T480 and T380 trucks built between June 22 and July 13 are also affected, along with Peterbilt 537, 536, and 548 trucks built between June 23 and July 13.
Notification Timeline
As of July 27, 2026, Paccar had received zero warranty claims and zero reports tied to the issue, according to the report. Interim owner letters are expected to be mailed September 25, 2026, with additional letters planned once the final remedy is available.
