Stellantis Recalls 850,000 Vehicles Over Camera Software
The campaign covers newer Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge and Ram vehicles whose backup-camera image can fail to appear. Stellantis says an over-the-air software update will fix the issue.

Nearly 850,000 U.S. Vehicles Covered
Stellantis NV is recalling nearly 850,000 Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge and Ram vehicles in the United States after identifying radio software that can stop the rearview-camera image from appearing on the vehicle media screen.
The recall applies to vehicles from model years 2026 and 2027, according to the company. Stellantis also said roughly 107,000 vehicles outside the United States are affected by the same issue.
Over-the-Air Fix Planned
The company said it will provide customers with an over-the-air software update to restore the backup-camera display. Stellantis said it knows of no crashes or injuries tied to the defect.
The campaign comes as backup-camera systems remain a recurring recall category across the auto industry. A Bloomberg News analysis cited by Transport Topics found camera-system problems have been involved in recalls covering about 21 million vehicles since the safety systems became mandatory in the United States eight years ago.
Fleet Check
For fleets running newer Ram, Jeep, Dodge or Chrysler units, the practical work is straightforward: match VINs against the recall population, confirm which vehicles can receive the update remotely, and make sure drivers report any intermittent camera-screen failures before the software fix is applied.
