AFLA Opens Its 57th Annual Conference

The Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association has opened its 2026 Corporate Fleet Conference at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa. The event began with Sunday evening hospitality sessions, moved into its full program on Monday, Sept. 28, and runs through Wednesday, Sept. 30.

This year's theme, Strategy Over Chance, fits an agenda built around decisions fleet teams are making now. Monday's fleet-trends panel covers total cost of ownership, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, remarketing, fuel volatility, tariffs and financing. A separate policy session examines how written fleet rules can improve compliance and employee buy-in, followed by a discussion pairing industry strategy with operating data.

AI, Lifecycle and Safety Fill the Next Two Days

Tuesday's program includes an AI workshop focused on prompt development and practical uses of large language models for personal and fleet work. Best-practice roundtables give fleet managers a forum to compare operating problems directly, while afternoon networking includes a poolside social and golf outing.

Wednesday turns to asset management, with a session on remarketing and upfitting designed to improve vehicle use and value from acquisition through disposal. The closing safety session is built around current priorities identified by fleet safety leaders.

Why This Agenda Matters

The conference arrives while fleet teams are balancing technology adoption against familiar operating pressure: vehicle cost, maintenance, compliance, driver safety and replacement timing. AFLA's program puts those topics in the same room instead of treating AI, policy and lifecycle planning as separate projects.

For operators following from outside Las Vegas, the most useful signal may be the agenda itself. Fleet strategy is increasingly a connected discipline: data quality affects replacement planning, policy affects driver behavior, and new AI tools only matter when they improve a specific workflow.
