More Ford models get fleet coverage

Ford Pro will expand its 5-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty to more commercial fleet vehicles beginning with the 2027 model year.

The new list includes the 2027 Ford Explorer, Maverick, Ranger, Mustang, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Mustang Mach-E, Expedition, and E-Transit. Ford noted exclusions for the Mustang GTD and Bronco Raptor. The announcement came during Ford Pro's Fleet Preview event in Las Vegas, where Ford Pro President Alicia Boler Davis outlined the expanded coverage.

How fleets qualify

The warranty expansion builds on coverage already available for Ford commercial trucks and vans, including the F-150, Super Duty F-250 through F-600, Transit, F-53/F-59 stripped chassis, and E-Series.

Eligible commercial customers must buy under a valid Fleet Identification Number and have the vehicle reported as a fleet sale type at the original sale. Ford Pro says the coverage is intended to reduce unexpected repair exposure and support lower total cost of ownership.

Why it matters

For operators running mixed fleets, the important shift is that warranty planning is moving beyond traditional work trucks and vans. SUVs, pickups, EVs, and people-moving vehicles now carry more of the same lifecycle math that fleets already apply to Super Duty and Transit units.

Ford Pro has not released every detailed term or model-specific exclusion for the newly eligible lines. Fleet buyers still need to confirm final coverage language with dealers before putting the expanded warranty into replacement-cycle assumptions.
