HDT Opens 2026 Truck Fleet Innovators Nominations

Nominations Are Open Until May 15

Heavy Duty Trucking has opened nominations for its 2026 Truck Fleet Innovators program, with submissions due no later than May 15, 2026.

The publication is looking for forward-thinking leaders at trucking fleets who have introduced a specific innovation or helped build a broader culture of operational improvement. The program can recognize a top executive, but it can also recognize a leader in equipment, maintenance, safety, drivers, sustainability, fuel economy, operations, IT, or another fleet function.

Who Is Eligible

Nominees must be leaders or executives at trucking fleets running Class 8 trucks, including for-hire, private, or government fleets. Mixed fleets that operate lighter-duty vehicles alongside heavy-duty trucks are also eligible.

Industry suppliers are not eligible for the award. Nominations can come from people familiar with the nominee's work, including coworkers, family members, customers, suppliers, or the nominee themselves.

What Winners Receive

Winners will be profiled in the July/August issue of Heavy Duty Trucking and in digital coverage. They will also be guests at Heavy Duty Trucking Exchange in Scottsdale, Arizona, on September 23-25, 2026, where they will receive awards and take part in a panel discussion.

HDT founded the Truck Fleet Innovators award in 2006. For fleet managers, the program is a useful scan of where peers are pushing real operational change, especially in areas like maintenance, safety, fuel economy, and driver programs.
