Matthew Cole Joins Wheels as President

Wheels Adds a Product-Focused President

Wheels named Matthew Cole president, giving the fleet and mobility services company a leader with more than 30 years of automotive and technology experience as it works on its next stage of growth.

Cole will focus on accelerating Wheels' growth strategy, strengthening client relationships and positioning the company for long-term success, according to the announcement. CEO Shlomo Crandus said Cole brings a mix of automotive, technology, product development and global operating experience.

Connected-Vehicle Experience Comes With Him

Cole most recently led Aptiv's Intelligent Systems business, where Wheels said he worked across growth, innovation and operational performance. His background also includes senior leadership roles at Visteon and Johnson Controls, plus earlier experience at Ford Motor Company.

That experience matters for fleet operators because large fleet-management providers are increasingly judged not only on leasing and service execution, but also on how well their technology, data and product roadmaps support changing vehicle programs.

What Fleet Clients Should Watch

Wheels said Cole has led businesses across the U.S., Europe and Asia and has worked in strategy, operations, technology and product development. His appointment gives clients a clear signal about where the company wants to put attention: product execution, service innovation and the operating discipline needed to support complex fleets.

For fleets using outside management partners, leadership changes at a major provider can shape priorities around maintenance programs, driver support, vehicle ordering, remarketing, reporting and technology investment.
