A new reservation layer for parking

Trucker Path says it has added more than 50,000 reservable truck parking spots to its app, giving drivers a way to book overnight and longer-term parking across the U.S.

The company said the reservation network sits alongside its existing free parking availability data. The new paid option covers professionally managed locations and is aimed at drivers who need a place to stop before hours-of-service clocks, appointment times, or high-demand freight corridors make parking scarce.

The shortage is still the core issue

FleetOwner's coverage tied the launch to familiar parking math from the American Transportation Research Institute: drivers spend an average of 56 minutes a day searching for parking, which can add up to six to seven hours a week in lost productivity and $4,000 to $6,000 a year in revenue potential.

Trucker Path also cited the broader U.S. shortage, with parking availability estimated at roughly one space for every 11 trucks on the road. The company says its app uses real-time user data and predictive analytics to help drivers find available locations.

Why dispatch teams should care

This is not a substitute for adding physical parking capacity, but it gives fleets another planning tool. Dispatchers can build more realistic trip plans when drivers have a reserved stopping point near a receiver, cross-dock, port, or dense metro lane.

The tradeoff is cost and reliability. Fleets will need to decide when reserving parking is cheaper than lost drive time, late deliveries, or unsafe shoulder parking near customer sites.
